Safety & Crisis

If you need help right now.

Haven asks mothers to be honest about hard days, and to let people they have just met near their children. That puts the burden of proof on us, not on you.

How we protect you

Verified before they ever arrive.

Before being accepted as a community member, every member provides verified contact information. We use encryption, authentication and secure data-storage practices to protect personal information.

  • Report and block anyone, from any post, in two taps.
  • Admins moderate villages against guidelines their members agreed to.
  • No advertising, and we never sell your data.

In an emergency, call 911. For urgent mental-health support anywhere in Canada, call or text 988, the Suicide Crisis Helpline, any time. Haven surfaces these resources — it is not itself a crisis service.

An honest note about the limits

  • No system removes every riskWe have done our best to mitigate the risks and challenges of this app. Haven is committed to reducing uncertainty through systematic structure, transparency and feedback.
  • Emergency services come firstIn any situation involving immediate life-threatening risk, contact emergency services before contacting Haven.
  • Links to other websitesHaven contains links to other organizations' websites, for which Haven has no responsibility. Read their privacy statements — their policies may differ from ours.
  • Canadian legal protocolsWe follow PIPEDA to protect our community, and we look forward to your feedback so we can keep improving.
